Scholorships for Research in the NEAR

North East Farming Futures Group (NEFF) is offering scholarships for research project ideas related to sustainability through;

(a) Efficiency in Farming Practice: In terms of the application of science to increase yield or reduce costs for greater profit or sustainability

b) Effectiveness: In terms of the farm economic or business decisions that will
contribute to improved viability in the future.

Two scholarships, each of $2,000, are available for full time students undertaking a 4th year or Honours research project in their final year of a degree, with $1000 for the student and $1000 to cover field research expenses.

NEFFs mission is to support farmers and farm groups in the North East Agricultural Region (NEAR) to develop viable farming futures by working with the best possible expertise available.
The project is focussing on developing new partnerships between NEFF and UWA students.

Applicants for the NEFF Scholarship will be required to address the following four selection criteria:
1. Describe your idea for the research project. 1-2 Pages
2. How is the proposed study relevant to the NEAR region?
3. Describe in approximately 50 - 100 words your present intentions or desires with regard to future employment and contribution to the agricultural industry.
4. Please attach your curriculum vitae and academic record.

Applications will be reviewed by board members of North East farming Futures Group and UWA staff.
